Local Option was a project that sought to ease the bulk movement of digital photographs through proprietary ecosystems while maintaining a workable master record or "golden copy." We were inspired by features from classic image software like imgSeek, ImageMagick, DigiKam and many others.

We decided to put the project on permanent hiatus when it became clear that OpenCV.js bindings representing the core of our stack were still too new/undocumented and kind-of wonky, that our "nearly-native" architecture strategy based on node and electron wasn't going to perform well-enough, and that it would be a mighty tough sell to get the resoueces necessary to grind through the afforementioned problems. I'm confident that if attempted this today, we'd have a much easier time. Until that happens, check out some screenshots from the project below, and please direct any questions or comments here!
